Event: Toothpick
Description: Doug Ray, otherwise known as Toothpick, has released his new disc, Time Travelin' Couch. In a crowded field of singer/songwriters, Toothpick separates himself from the pack by infusing his original style of rap and freestyle with traditional story telling. Time Travelin' Couch blends old school hip-hop, simple melodies and driving beats. This will be Toothpick’s first visit to the M-Shop. Help us make him feel welcome!

Event: Black and White Photography
Description: Section I – Stephanie Brunia The instructor will cover everything from capturing the image to developing and printing the negatives. Topics include: how to choose the right B & W film, exposure, lighting, lenses, depth of field, composition and filters. To better understand the photographic process, the instructor will demonstrate basic darkroom techniques. Bring your own camera to the first class. (35 mm SLR preferred but not required.) Supply fee includes film, paper and developing chemicals. You’ll learn to create glass patterns, cut, foil, and solder glass, and stain your solder. Event: Wheel Thrown Pottery
Description: Greg Lamont A ceramics class for those wanting to learn wheel-throwing or extend their current abilities. Participants will be guided through all aspects of forming a pot on the potter’s wheel. Proper use of equipment, hand tools, and glazes will be covered. Intermediate skills will be covered for those students who have already taken a beginner class. Supply fee includes use of basic tools, up to 50 lbs of clay, glaze and kiln firings. Description: Valerie Williams Learn to dance heart to heart! In the tango, one dances the melody of the music, not just the bass line. Valerie teaches students how to dance the melody by teaching improvisation as well as steps; practical dance technique; leading from the intention of movement rather than simply manipulating a partner. Argentine Tango can improve your balance, focus, sensitivity, and particularly your ability to work with and respond spontaneously to a partner.
