Split Lip Rayfield |
| Description: |
$7 students, $9 public
You should have seen this one coming. Split Lip Rayfield played the Shop a few years back. We have not stopped talking about them since. The quartet from Wichita is back with their new release, Should Have Seen It Coming. Equal parts bluesgrass, western, honky-tonk, and garage rock, these guys make a show a blast. Mix the guitar, banjo, and the one-string gas tank bass (yes, you read that correctly) and you have a show that needs to be experienced. Trust us. It is an experience

Eddie From Ohio-Special Guests: Lowen & Navarro |
| Description: |
This is Me, the ninth release from Eddie FromOhio, is an amazing recording. Changing producers to Lloyd Maines (the Dixie Chicks) has given them a sound that is, dare we say, all grown up. But don’t let it fool you. Julie, Mike, Robbie, & Eddie still make it all fun. Their live shows have been filling the M-Shop for years. You never know what will happen. This time around, they have their friends, and one of our favorites, Lowen & Navarro opening the show.
On sale to students January 10, 2005, and public January 18, 2005.

Stuart Davis |
| Description: |
$9 students, $10 public
Stu is back! Who knows what this bald sage will do when he is on stage. Taking the topics of God, sex, and life and death, and crafting them into inimitable pop songs with lyrical flair and unforgettable hooks, Stu continues to be one of the great, undiscovered singer/songwriters around. He also has a special surprise up his sleeve for this show. You will just have to come to the show and find out what it is.

Kaki King |
| Description: |
$7 students, $9 public
Kaki King is a feisty, five-foot, funny, outspoken Atlanta transplant who now lives in New York, a city whose energy is almost equal to her own. She also happens to be the most exciting solo guitarist/composer to have come along in decades. On her Epic album debut, Legs to Make Us Longer, she blazes through a set of original works with an intensity that reflects her world -- subway platform gigs, late shifts at the Mercury Lounge, surreptitious intermission entrances into Lincoln Center to catch some Stravinsky. This is more than the new age stupor that most solo guitar music seems to induce. We are pleased to present her Iowa debut. You will be pleased with this amazing new talent.
